1. Pineapple Drop and block party in downtown Sarasota

Celebrate the last day of 2022 in Downtown Sarasota with thrilling midway rides and games for all ages and your favorite fair food, live music and DJs, special offers at local bars and restaurants, and the annual Pineapple Drop followed by a fireworks display over Sarasota Bay.  Event admission is free.

Unlimited ride wristbands (for riders 36 inches and taller), valid from 1 pm – 6 pm, are $30 online until 3 pm Dec. 31 or on-site till 5 pm while supplies last.

Ride tickets, valid anytime, are available at the carnival or online till 3 pm for $50/50 tickets plus 1 free ride. (Rides take 2 or more tickets each.)

Carnival hours are 1 pm – 1 am. Parent/guardian supervision is required for ages 17 and younger. Please check the website for updates before attending.

The annual Pineapple Drop Block Party runs from 1 pm – 1 am. Live music starts at 8:30 pm with top 10 country artist Chas Collins (Lemon Avenue Stage), 22N dance band (Main Street Stage) and SRQ Beats (State Street Stage).

2. Main Street Live in downtown Bradenton

Downtown Bradenton's recently revived free block party and concert series Main Street Live returns with another major New Year's Eve bash on Old Main Street. Tropical reggae group Seranation, from St. Petersburg, will perform from 6 p.m. to midnight with area bars open even later. There will also be food and artisan vendors with many great restaurant options in downtown Bradenton. For more information:

3. University Town Center's New Year's Eve at UTC

Have little ones with early bedtimes? Ring in 2023 early at UTC’s family-friendly New Year’s Eve event from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Partygoers of all ages can celebrate with live music, face painting and entertainment on The Green at UTC, plus a free showing of Frozen with a special visit from Elsa and Anna starting at 6:00 pm in the outdoor theater near Ford’s Garage.

The festivities will conclude at 9:00 pm with a fireworks show and balloon drop on The Green. For more information:

4. Beach Club New Year's Eve party on Siesta Key

Open since 1947 and still the hottest nightspot in Sarasota following a recent renovation, Beach Club in Siesta Key Village is throwing a New Year's Eve bash featuring an open bar from 8 to 11 p.m. with appetizers, champagne fountain, and complimentary champagne toast at midnight. There will also be live music and a DJ with open bar packages priced at $50 to $80. For more information:

5. Sharky's New Year's Eve Beach Bash in Venice

One of the best beach bars in Florida, Sharky's on the Pier at 1600 Harbor Drive is a south Sarasota County landmark dating back to 1987 that places guests right on the sand of Brohard Beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico for spectacular sunsets. On Saturday, though, the main event will be the fireworks at midnight exploding over the water and silhouetted by the Venice Fishing Pier. Starting at 7 p.m., guests will enjoy a performance by rock/pop band Scarlet Drive.
