THINGS TO DO: Downtown Sarasota Blues Festival

If relaxing, having fun, enjoying good food and listening to great live music over the weekend is your plan, head out to the Downtown Sarasota Blues Festival at J.D. Hamel Park in downtown Sarasota. The fun begins Friday evening 4pm-10pm and continues Saturday 11am-10pm and Sunday 11am-6pm. Admission is Free! The event is produced by Paragon Festivals.

• Seating is provided, however, you may bring your own chairs if you prefer

Choose foods from a diverse menu of barbeque and meat dishes (along with vegetarian and seafood of course) all cooked fresh on-site by local restaurants and food purveyors. Select from a diversity of side dishes and of course – awesome desserts! Liquid refreshment includes selections of alcoholic, non-alcoholic and fruit drinks along with sodas and bottled water.

While enjoying your meal, sit back and relax to musical entertainment consisting of live performances by creative and talented musicians from both the local and regional circuits. Performances scheduled for Johnny Long, Jewel Tones, Sean Chambers, Gary Memphis Rub, Joey Gilmore, Memphis Lightning, Frank Bang, Lee Boys, Bridget Kelly Band, JP Soars & The Red Hots, Mike Hund’s All Stars.

During breaks between performances, enjoy time shopping a marketplace of fine arts, crafts, and select fine products and food items.
