Sarasota Named No. 1 Place to Retire

U.S. News & World Report unveiled the 2018 Best Places to Retire and Sarasota is No. 1 on the list.

The results were determined based on factors that measure housing affordability, desirability, retiree taxes, the happiness index, job market and healthcare quality. These measures were analyzed based on a public survey of people age 45 older that asked what matters most when considering a place to retire.

Daytona Beach was the only other Florida city in the Top 10. Four Texas cities also made the list – Austin, McAllen, El Paso and San Antonio – as well as Lancaster and Pittsburgh, PA, Grand Rapids, MI and Washington, D.C.

It seems like more of the world is finding out the same thing Sarasota residents already know: Sarasota is one of the most incredible cities in the United States.
