Pantone Color of the Year

Every December, Pantone selects its "Color of the Year." The color chosen for 2018 is a deep purple called Ultra Violet. Pantone says it chose this color because it conveys “originality and ingenuity, [and] is a distinctive and complex purple shade that fascinates and intrigues.”

The color is likely to make a big hit on fashion runways, but may be more difficult to incorporate when it comes to decorating.
