Clear the Shelters Pet Adoption Campaign

The Humane Society of Sarasota County has joined NBCUniversal’s annual Local Clear the Shelters pet adoption campaign and will waive the adoption fee for eligible dogs and cats through Sept. 19.

This is the seventh consecutive year that NBC and Telemundo-owned stations are presenting their nationwide pet adoption campaign in partnership with affiliate stations and shelters/rescues. Since 2015, the Local Clear The Shelters campaign has helped more than half a million pets find new homes.

Hill's Pet Nutrition is the national sponsor for its fourth Clear The Shelters campaign. iHeartDogs, a previous Clear The Shelters partner, will donate pet supplies to select shelters. Visit ClearTheShelters.com for more information.

Follow the campaign effort on Twitter @ClearTheShelter, and on social media using #ClearTheShelters and #DesocuparLosAlbergues.

The Humane Society of Sarasota County, a no-kill shelter, relies solely on private donations, bequests, and community support to continue its mission to help animals. Programs include pet adoptions, humane education, pet therapy, a pet pantry, a volunteer program, and a full-service, low-cost animal clinic that is open to the public.

Adoption hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit hssc.org or 941-955-4131.
