Lakewood Ranch Approaches Its 15th Anniversary

Lakewood Ranch is preparing to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the first homes sold at this master-planned community located in Bradenton in Manatee County, Florida. The celebration, which is free and open to the public will take place on October 15th at Sarasota Polo Club.
For those not familiar yet with Lakewood Ranch, it is a 8,500 acre master-planned community with over 150 miles of sidewalks and trails, community parks, lakes and nature preserves with forested and wetland preserves. The private Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club offers
year-round play on 54 holes of magnificently designed courses; 36 designed by the Palmer Course Design Co. and 18 holes designed by Rick Robbins, a practice range, practice chipping area and practice putting greens.
The club also includes an athletic club with an 11,400 square foot fitness center, 2 heated outdoor pools and 18 lighted clay tennis courts. Lakewood Ranch also offers Polo

programs that keep children in school and prepare them for life in the 21st century workforce. Specifically, the "ManaTeen Club," which posts volunteer opportunities for youth and the "Take Stock in Children" program
that helps low-income children stay in school and graduate from college were recognized.
