World Class Rowing Venue Was Inspired by Local Rowing Coach

Dragos Alexandru saw potential for a park owned by Sarasota County. His vision and persistence eventually evolved into Nathan Benderson Park where the World Rowing Championships will soon be held. Alexandru, a local rowing coach and former Olympic athlete, created momentum behind the idea for the world-class rowing venue and it eventually came to fruition. Such an amazing reminder that if one has a dream, anything is possible…
